  • Scripture Union’s research suggests that 95% of kids and young people are not in church – that number is likely to be higher in Teesside. Thankfully, there is a place where the vast majority of kids are found – in school!

If you have links with a local Primary School, would you be willing to help organise or deliver a pre-prepared assembly in the lead up to the festival? This assembly can be delivered in both faith and secular schools provided that the school is forewarned about the Biblical content as well as the invitation to the festival.

We know that our churches are well connected with their local schools, and we are keen to utilise these connections to tell as many kids as possible about the good news of Jesus and the festival weekend!

Email bigkidsboro@hotmail.com to receive your Assembly Plan as soon as it’s published.

  • A trilogy of sessions, based on a poetic retelling of the Parables in Luke 15: the Lost Sheep, Coin and Son.

These 45-minute session plans can be delivered in multiple settings including primary schools through lessons, lunch clubs or afterschool clubs, or in church Sunday schools, kids club or Messy Church.

Each session plan includes craft ideas, themed games, Bible teaching and discussion questions.

These can be used in the lead-up or follow-up to the festival weekend.

Email bigkidsboro@hotmail.com to receive your pack as soon as it’s published.

participate during festival teesside

Join our Team of Festival Teesside Volunteers on 8th and 9th June.

During the weekend itself, there’ll be a whole host of fun activities for kids to take part in. Two free back-to-back family fun days - what could be better?!

There will be face painting, bouncy castles, lawn games, colouring stations, treasure hunts, puppets, and circus skills in a jam-packed afternoon of joy, all in Jesus’ name. We are looking for people who are willing to help in the Kid’s Area on Saturday and Sunday. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up below.

Follow up AFter festival teesside

We know that kids and families work is a whole church effort — it takes a village after all! With that in mind, we would love for you to consider how your church can effectively follow up with the kids interested in learning more about Jesus.

If you’d like to discuss ideas and possibilities for sustainable kids’ work post-festival, email neilj@scriptureunion.org.uk, the Mission Enabler for Scripture Union.

We will be collating a list of activities that the churches in Teesside are running post-festival specifically aimed towards young families. This might be a holiday club, summer party, family event or Messy Church. Please let us know if your church is planning anything like this, and we will publish it on the Festival Teesside follow-up website.
